My sister Pam

My younger sister Pam has been a part of my life since I was just 4 years old. I remember riding in the car to pick her up from the hospital. I sat beside my grandmother in the backseat and I remember the way Grandma held Pam on her lap blocking the sunlight that streamed in the window with her hand so that is would not shine in the baby’s sensitive eyes. As my only sibling, Pam and I rely on each other to hold on to our family traditions, to tell our children about the past generation, and to put the pieces of stories together in hopes that two memories are better than one. Together we shared our parents’ illnesses and passings and now just the Parker girls remain. I treasure having a sister who is easy-going, unselfish, kind and true. Pam is a blessing to my life.
