Bracelet #121120023387

Four days into a chaotic start to the school year I put myself in situation to fail. I needed to copy 30 packets for my first period which started in less than five minutes. This is embarrassing and painful to type but that was my situation. Lisa Dickie, a long time colleague, was in the copy room helping out another teacher make copies for her first period and not knowing my story she asked if I needed my copies soon and if she could help me out. Without skipping a beat she said put in my job for the copier and she would bring them to my class. This was a miracle that she was there at that time, I don’t know anybody else that would make that offer or even think to do such a kind thing. At the end of the school day when I went to make copies for the next day. I stopped in to give Lisa the bracelet and that’s when I discovered she was helping out multiple people with tasks which kept popping up during her planning period. She took all these jobs in stride and didn’t question anything. What this has really taught me is I need to be more like her and help out where ever I can. This ended up being my gift.
