I became friends with Andrea 20 years ago in New Mexico. Job opportunities took us to different states about 7 years ago and we fell out of touch. Last year, unknown to both of us, I applied for a job in Andrea’s department in Virginia. When Andrea saw my name on the applicant list, she put in a good word for me, invited me to stay with her to house hunt, and helped me adjust to a new city.
