Bracelet #110920022355
My mom bought me this bracelet in 2021? Or 2022. I was in college for sure. And at the time I thought I’d never find someone to give this to. And then I met Charlotte.
When I first met Charlotte, I hadn’t formed a good support system in DC. In the first few months of knowing each other, my life fell into turmoil. My parents moved away, and I continued long distance with my husband. Then one day, Charlotte asked me to hang out after work. Her genuine and fun spirit was easy to see. I was a bit of an introvert who needed someone like that to pull me out of my shell. Charlotte helped pull me in to the fullest version of myself. Over the summer, Charlotte introduced me to more girls who would become such great friends. Suddenly, I realized by the fall, I had people I could rely on and reach out to and hang out with. It was one of the most meaningful parts of my year. Her innate skill for bringing together girls into beautiful friendships groups is one I admire deeply. I don’t think Charlotte has ever met a stranger, and yet also would immediately be able to find that person a best friend. It truly feels special to be her friend.
But beyond this, Charlotte is a consistent and thoughtful friend. She’s always down for anything you’re interested in and has enough ideas to entertain you for years. She is the ultimate host and is never afraid to have a social gathering. In fact, hosting anxiety fears her. She is the type of friend who would go above and beyond for your birthday without hesitation or thought. Truly, she’s a gem of a friend you only find once in a lifetime.
I hope this story can share with her just a fraction of all the ways being her friend has changed my life for good.
