I reunited with a friend in Chicago after a long COVID induced seperation. She brought along this bracelet and encouraged me to write a story and eventually pass it on. My friend and I met in Maryland in 1998 when we worked together for a short time – I think it was only about 6-8 months. Through marriages, kids, and moves we have managed to foster our friendship and stay close, even though we have not lived in the same state or seen each other in person more than a few times a year since 1999. We work on it, because we both realize our relationship is worth it. She’s smart, funny, successful, and caring and I am proud of our enduring friendship.
